Finished it. Great ride! Characters seem real. Sandford creates characters who seem like people I know...or would like to know.

I've never read a Sandford book I didn't absolutely love. And when I've written to tell him so, he actually answered his own e-mails (so did Stuart Woods!)

I'm reading "Rough Country" by John Sandford. It's about detective Virgil Flowers, of the Minnesota BCA (Bureau of Criminal Apprehension...kind of like Minnesota's version of our SBI). Virgil works for Lucas Davenport, my favorite fictional cop of all-time, and the center of the "Prey" series of books by Sandford.

I'm less than a hundred pages from the end...I'll probably finish sometime today or tonight. Quite a ride, so far. If you've read the "Prey" series (I've read them all), you've got to give the Virgil Flowers books a try.
