The antenna I have is a Lava brand. There is a website you can go to that will tell you what type of digital antenna to get, but I can't remember what the site is called.

hdgirl,

Does it matter what brand of digital antenna you buy?

Only the roku3 has an Ethernet port. All other models (1,2 and the stick) only work on wifi. But 3 (and the stick) only has an hdmi connection for a TV. Won't do composite.

I love mine. I've had it for close to two years. also have a Roku stick for the tv in the bedroom and it works well also. I have Netflix, Hulu, and Sling TV. I have cancelled my cable. I have a digital antenna for my local channels. As far as I know you have to have Wifi. It is a streaming device. Hulu and Netflix are around $8 a month and Sling TV is $20 dollars a month. Sling TV has AMC, A&E, Lifetime, History, H2, HGTV, ESPN and several more channels that stream live tv. Sling has some on demand options also.

Why WiFi necessary? Won't it work hardwired from router to box?

I got the rca box. It runs off the red, yellow and white cables. Had it hooked to the old tv in our bedroom til we got the flat screen in there. Wifi necessary but we stream netflix, hulu and youtube. Cancelled cable.

I recently bought one and I like it. I got a Roku 2 and use the standard red white and yellow cable hookup. You'll need wifi as it streams through your internet. There are lots of free channels, lots more with a monthly subscription fee that runs between 2 and 5 dollars and a few you can buy permanently. There are also some channels that have an on demand like service if they are a part of your satellite/cable service (Disney, HBO, NatGeo, etc.).

Anyone have this? If so what's the deal, how does it work. Do you have to have a newer tv in order to hook it up. Do you have to buy a box for each tv. So fed up with high satellite fees. Thanks for info.
