13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher
I started reading it with my daughter. She is 10 and heard about it. I read ahead of her because of the subject matter. She was only allowed to read about 1/3 of the book. It was way too mature for her. It was really good.

I'm reading the last book in the Hunger Games series. Very good books. The characters are easy to get to know and enjoy. The books are paced well and have kept my interest. Definitely suggest them.

Beach music, and or south of broad....two of the best books ever. they are by Pat Conroy, you can go to his web-site. I read about 4 or 5 books a week, by library or kindle, or buying them. I have to read, lol

Try "Man from Macedonia." It is a memoir about elderly black man in NC, who was born the son of a sharecropper, and witnessed the worst of segregation and racism. He got involved in civil rights in the 60's and was appointed by three NC governors to help with the integration of schools, which brought him face to face with th KKK, and other dangerous situations. He went on to become an advisor to Pres. Reagan, and then was appointed the first black Secretary of the Department of Corrections in NC. I laughed and wept, and couldn't put this book down.

I've decided to abandon modern books for a while and decided to go for some classics I've always wanted to read. I'm the middle of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and am LOVING it. The story keeps your attention and the language of the narration is absolutely beautiful.

I have so many book suggestions, it's crazy. If you are just getting back into reading, or if you are just getting started, I would go for something that is going to grab you and hold in thrawl thru the entire book, and when you are coming to the end of the book you will wish there was more.
I like paranormal romance, E.G. Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake series, or Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series.
There are so many good books, just depending on what you are interested in.

The Seasoning of Rebecca
by Claude Limoges
Called beautiful and private and strangely elegant,
this novel is the story of Rebecca’s learning two things:
how wrong she is and an even-so love.
Pick this up if you like women’s, southern, literary, or historical fiction.
Set in a Moravian community in 19th-century North Carolina. http://www.amazon.com/The-S...6TWVU5XWC2

I gotta put in a plug for my author friends.
If you like fantasy my friend Eline Corvidae is amazing! My pal Joe Naff has an awesome book series as well.
If horror is more your style, be sure to check out my pal Scott Nicholson
And if you want real ghost stories my friend Cher Lambeth has a great book called "Haunted Theaters of the Carolinas"

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson. A high intensity mystery with one of the most intriguing characters (Lisabeth Salander) ever created. There's already been a Swedish movie adaptation, and a domestic version is coming December 21, starring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, and Joely Richardson.

Daemon & it's follow-up Freedom by Daniel Suarez are fantastic reads. Kind of a Sci Fi/ Action/Thriller mix, they kept me on the edge of my seat! I am also currently reading the Song of Ice & Fire series, great so far.
