Recommend a book, please.

Actually Game of Thrones is the 1st book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. I highly recommend that for Fantasy lovers. There are 5 books (so far and fifth just came out) and the HBO series Game of Thrones is based on it. Great series; great books. If you like that kind of thing, I also advise the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. He's also finishing up Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.

I agree with AngryKid. Water for Elephants is good. I am about half way through it and I wished O had started it earllier.

One Second After was a great book. Forstchen also does some alternative history stuff that is good. My favorite SCI FI guys ate S. M. Stirling, John Ringo, Larry Corriea, and Eric Flint. In mystery John Sandford, Jamie lee Burke, Vince Flynn are good. Right now I am reading the Game of Thrones series.

I recently read One Second After by William Forstchen. I really enjoyed it and it's locale is Black Mtn, NC. Post apocalyptic fiction that I enjoyed very much. I also have a Kindle--got for Christmas. It has been used every day. Never heard of BAEN. I'll give that a try and sign up for free ebook email as well. Thanks posters for sharing.

The book I would recommend is The Host by Stephanie Meyers. I usually don't like this type of book, but I loved this one. It had a great moral story of racism and prejudice...not the kind you are thinking (more of an alien vs human thing). It was one of the best books I have ever read.
My favorite book of all time is A Fine Balance which is about three people in India who suffer some great tragedies, yet they keep trudging along.
Another great one is She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb and he also wrote another one I love called I Know This Much is True. I don't often read books twice but all of these I could read over and over.

I just replaced my original Kindle with the newer version. Get most of my books from BAEN, They have a Free library where you can download books for a dime. They also have a link to webscriptions. Also buy a bunch through the Kindle store. Have saved enough money on gas alone not having to go to Barnes and Noble for my Book fix, to more then pay for the kindle.
