There is several books in that series featuring the MacNaughtons. I enjoyed Howell's spin on vampire lore. Isn't The Eternal Vampire the one she did with Lynsey Sands or am I thinking of another?
My husband bought me three books by Hannah Howell for my birthday. I plan on starting "The Eternal Highlander" today, I will let you know if they are any good or not.
If ou are in for a little heavier readin on the topoc, check out the book the Historian, can't remember the author, but be warned this is not twilight, sookie stackhouse, and is far from lite reading
If you like Twilight, I think you will looove Sookie Stackhouse. It is more adult themed and has some comedy and more gore. I am reading the third Twilight book right now and while I do like it I have some problems with it. I guess it is because the books are meant more for young adults. I have a hard time with Bella thinking it is okay to become a vampire, but not okay to get married. She thinks that marriage is ending her life and for losers. WTF?? I just don't get that thinking. I do think that teens should wait until after college to get married, but becoming a vampire is ending her life and she will never see her family again. I would say that is more tragic than getting married young. She said that her mother would rather her become a vampire than get married. I guess teens do think like this, but it sticks in my crawl. I also don't like that Edward is so controlling. He has loosened up his reins a little as I read more, but it just bothers me. I cannot stand a controlling relationship. My daughter has the same issues with the book as I do and she is much younger than me so I don't know if it is just a maturity issue or age. I think it is more maturity of the two. She told me to just get over it like she did or it or not read anymore. LOL! I can't not read it because I have to finish a book, so I guess I will get over it. I do like the books over all though, but preferred Sookie much more. Neither Charlaine Harris or Stephanie Meyers (sp) hold a candle to Anne Rice though.
Check out Jaz Parks by Jennifer Rardin. They are awesome books. She has an awesome take on vamps, weres, witches and other mythical creatures. The library has them, they are five books out now and a sixth on the way.
I took butterfly79's suggestion and started reading the Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton. However, the review I read said the good stuff did not start until book 10. I stared at book 10 "Narcissus in Chains". I am sure I will most likely go back and start at book one after I get done with this one, but I would not have missed this book for anything. It has held my attention since the first page. Even though I missed stuff by starting in the middle of the series, Hamilton is like any other writer and fills in enough previous information to bring you up to speed. I recommend this book to anyone that likes to read romantic vampire.
If you're into romance, Maggie Shayne,s Night Wing series is pretty interesting. some of them are Edge of Twilight, Twilight Hunger, Prince of Twilight. I also loved I Am Legend and an old one called Fever Dream. Those two are not vampire romance. I also love Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I do love my Vampires.
The Anita Blake series by Laurell Hamilton is awesome. However, it is an ADULT series, not for teens. There are about 16 books in all. The public library has them. The best way is to read them in order!! I just finished the last one that recently came out. Can't wait for the next!
I am in the Vampire craze as well...I've read the Twlight series, but cannot seem to find the Sookie Stackhouse Series at the Library..do they have it? I just checked out a book called "Staked" yesterday, it sounded pretty good, but I've not started reading it yet.
I am trying to decide what to read next and you all are no help (LOL). Now you have given me more options than I had before which means I will never be able to make a selection.
I was never into reading vampire books, just watched the movies. My first was the Twilight series, then I moved on to the Sookie Stackhouse series. I am trying to stay away from series this time it is getting expense not to say how hard it is find every book in a series.
for some reason I was thinking it was Interview With A Vampire. any how it is a classic. Anne Rice was one of my first faves. Then again I Haven't read her in a few years preferring the stories that are romantic in nature.
I have also read some nina Bangs and they're good. as for pc cast+kristin Cast I have read them yet. There is also a series by gena showalter based in Atlantis. They're not all vampire novels but there is one entitled The Vampire's Bride. It's rather good.
