I read all the books and watched the movie when it came out. It didn't change the characters in my head, but it is fun to see who they get to play the characters, to see if they are close to how I had them pictured. I think the books are great, I also hope she finished Midnight Sun, I wish she would do a book to show Edwards perspective in New Moon, it would be interesting to know what all he was feeling and where all he went and what he did while he was away from Bella. I loved the movie it goes right along with the book except for a couple of places, if you are enjoying the books watching the movie will only make them better.

I watched the movie when it came out. The movie hooked me & after I watched it, I went out and bought all 4 books. I read all 4 books in 2 weeks. The movie did help me see the characters as they were talking. I love this series and hope Stephenie Meyers finishes Midnight Sun.

I watched the movie before I read any of the books, mainly because I never thought I'd get caught up in the "Twilight craze", but after seeing the movie I just had to read the first book, and now I'm hooked, in the middle of the 3rd book, and extremely excited about the New Moon movie this fall. Yes seeing the movie first makes me picture those characters in the book, but I like it that way because it gives me something to picture and go on, and like someone else said, it's a nice escape from the real world.

The movie did an excellent job of portraying the character descriptions but as far as the storyline goes the book is wayyy better. The movie "speeds" things up just a little too fast and leaves a few important details but it is DEFINATELY worth watching!

I have read all 4 books and saw the movie Twilight that came out last November. I think that the books and the movie are very good. I can't wait until New Moon comes out. The characters were pretty much how I pictured them in my head.

I loved Jacob I thought his chacter on the movie fit the book I loved Victoria Carlie Esme The rest of the chacter growed on me I hated Edward chacter but by the end of the movie he was fine. When me and my friends read the book then watch the movie we don't go expecting it to be the same if it was why watch it. They always come up with some things you will love and some you will hate. I loved the scene where they was going along thru the trees and the baseball scene was great but hated they left out how Rosile and Bella didn't get along. Alice is growing on me but she still isn't who I pictured her at all. I read the books and pulled for Jacob book 3 left me hanging and I still wish Bella had chosen him but I will watch all the movies and hope they make The Host into a movie or TV series if you can get thru the first of the book the rest rocks.

LisaAnne, I was not fond of their Rosalie either... she is nothing like I expected.. she does not really live up to the book's version of Rosalie.

I actually started reading the books long before the movie was scheduled to come out so I was able to form my own opinion of the characters. I'm also from Washington state and have been to Forks and Port Angeles many times. Seeing the movie after reading the books was a huge treat. I got to actually see Forks and Port Angeles, and the coast of Washington which made me SO homesick. I also love who they chose to play Edward and Bella. I wasn't so fond of who they chose to Play Rosalie though. Anyway, seeing the movie after reading the book was a nice way to tie everything in for me. I was already in love with the story and having a visual to go with it just deepened my love for Twilight.

I was just getting ready to ask what it was that people who didn't like the movie didn't like about it! Anyone else want to answer that??

I read the first book, then watched the movie and then continued the saga. Seeing the characters didn't change my view whatsoever. Infact, it helped a lot. Not sure about anyone else but apparently when I read I don't read biracial at all - everyone in my mind was white, lol. Also I pictured Edward and Bella's house totally different when reading, but when I went to read the second book I still had MY version of Bella's house but the movies version of Edward's, lol.

The movie sucked balls compared to the book, but they always do. They leave out A LOT in the movie. I wouldn't have liked the movie had I watched the movie first. I thought the acting was terrible - I can't deny that Edward was just as hot as the book made him out to be but the acting was terrible. I'm very excited for the second movie. So watch it, I don't think it will make a difference in your reading!

READ THE BOOKS BEFORE you watch the movie... If you watch the movie now, your version of all the characters will be changed and you will feel like someone kicked your puppy.

The movie is okay, but read your books first :D The Twilight movie kind of has some cheesy parts, but it covers the basics. The New Moon movie has a new director, and from the trailers I have seen, it looks like it will be 100X better than the twilight movie. New Moon movie will air this November... I hope to see some of you at the theatre :D

RJspet...that's what I'm thinking...Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart aren't MY Edward and Bella!! And I don't want them tainting my images :)

Anyway, enough of my life's pressing issues! Thanks for everyone's input!

If you are already on the 3rd book. Watching the movie wont change or spoil the books. I thought the movie was ok. It seemed to follow the book well. And is based on the 1st. Go ahead and enjoy the movie! You will finish the books ( all 4) b4 the 2nd movie is finished!

The Story was good in the movie - they veered somewhat from the book, but the Story itself was good. What I didn't like was the way the characters looked in the movie - it didn't go at all with the images in my head. I went back to the books & got back into the stories & soon my "images" reappeared. I was able to "get over" the movie.

But not liking the movie didn't change your perception of the books? I think the clips that they are showing on the movie awards look good...and New Moon looks good also!

I watched the movie while I was reading the 3rd book. I did not like the movie-but it didn't change my image of the characters. The books are much better of course, except for the 2nd book, which I didn't like at all. The last one is my favorite.

Everyone I know who watched the movie after reading the books hates the movie. I haven't read the books but I still hate the movie. You aren't missing out on anything by not watching the movie.
