My personal opinion, I read Marley and Me a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed reading the book. I hope you all enjoy reading it too.

They did have it at the Walmart in Wilkes as well. I would suggest everyone check walmart first. I also am going to be in Boone and will be stopping by the bookstore (I might as well just buy the bookstore I spend so much there lol). I'll let you guys know if they have it.

We will have until Feb. 12th to read the first one, just to let everyone know. And if anyone has any suggestions for future reads let me know. When it gets closer to the deadline to have the book read I'll post another topic where we can discuss just the book. Again, I ask everyone to have an open mind, and let's have constructive discussions and not a people/book bashing fest. Have fun and happy reading.

Here is the order (I gave each book a number and then had my 6 yr old pick a random number one to five until we got them all, so it's all fair )
Marley and Me (suggested by Thazzrite), The Historian by Elizabeth (Suggested by 1Goddess), Forrest Gump (Suggested by Ashlou), Wizard's First Rule (My Suggestion), A Tale of Two Cities (Suggested by CCCombs)

I'm on with this too. I would like to participate but withhold my vote for book. I know that sounds odd, but the main reason why I'm interested is to get me OUT of my comfortable book rut... I like the same old things and need a little bit of a kick in the butt!

I love Patricia Cornwell novels, but it's hard to understand her series unless you read it in order....so I guess that's outta the picture...but my suggestion is Forrest Gump....great movie & the books even better :)

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova..
It is about Vlad the Impaler who formed the basis of the legend of Count Dracula. With all the interest and stories about vampires lately..this book questions if the vampires really do exist?
