Yes, how about we try to keep it to books that are out in paperback, just because these are usually much cheaper for everyone.

I agree this sounds good to me. The only other thing I could think of lets keep it to books we can all afford. I don't mind giving $4 to 15 for a book just to see if it is good. I went to this site the NY times best sellers that may be a good site or an older book if it is easy for us all to get. http://www.nytimes.com/page...
I love to read new things lets get the ball rolling.

Ok, so, I've been following the thread about having a book club meeting, and I have seen where discussing the books online seems to be the best option for most people. I would like for this to all happen, so as long as no one minds, I'm just going to jump in and try to help the ball get rolling a little here. I know right now its the holidays so this is what I propose we do. I think everyone should suggest ONE book they would like for us to read and discuss on here. We can keep this open until roughly Jan 10th (there is always the option to extend this if we need too) at which time I can compile all the books and at random draw one for each month. We should have 1 mnth for each book, starting Jan. 11th. How does this sound to everyone? I would also like to ask that we all keep open minds about what we might be asked to read. This will only work if people actually participate and don't just flake out because a book my not be in the genre they typically read. If you read it and don't like it, thats ok too, just come to the discussion with reasons why you didn't like it. I would like this to be constructive and not turn into a book/people bashing kind of thing. So let me know what you guys think, honestly. I'm just trying to help get this all started and I have extra time now to put into this, but by all means if you guys would rather have someone else head this up, let me know, I will not be offended at all. I really just want to help
