The Sign of Seven

A Note from Nora

Readers have been asking for a description of The Sign of Seven trilogy which starts with the release of Blood Brothers in December. Describing the series almost brings to mind a movie trailer script:

Hawkins Hollow, Maryland…an idyllic town where three boys share not only a birthday – July 7, 1977...but an innocent ritual of friendship that changes the course of their lives and everything else in Hawkins Hollow…Now those boys are men who must find the way to defeat the evil threatening all they know and love.

I can almost hear the pulsating music between each phrase, can’t you?

Without giving away too much, I can tell you that on the eve of their 10th birthday, the three boys meet to camp in the woods surrounding Hawkins Hollow. Their destination is the Pagan Stone, where they perform a blood brother ritual cementing their friendship forever. When their combined blood hits the ground by the Pagan Stone, a powerful evil, coiled in waiting for centuries, strikes. Seven days of chaos engulf Hawkins Hollow after that ritual, but in the aftermath the citizens can’t quite recall the horror that possessed them.

Every seven years, that evil returns in full force for seven days--and the citizens again don’t remember, or not clearly, what happened. Only the boys, now men, know.

Now, three friends must gather their strength and pool their talent—with that of three women who are drawn to the town, and to them--to defeat the evil readying itself for a return to Hawkins Hollow.

What is the name of the books in this vampire trilogy by nora roberts. I love vampire novels, especially ones with some romance.

There is some romance (sex) in the J.D. Robb venue, but it is not what I would call a 'romance' type of book.

I actually don't like her other books as much as I like the J.D. Robb.

Strongly recommend beginning the series and reading them in order.

So, are the J.D. Robb books as romantic as her other stuff? I just read the vampire trilogy, and though I like overall story, there was a bit too much romance for my taste.

I couldn't agree more!

Can't wait for her next one which is due out in November.

Eve is one tough cookie!

Roake is yummy!

Peabody is loyal.

Mavis is eccentric and exuberant.

Moira is maternal.

And, let's not forget Roarke's majordomo, Summerset. I just love the snappy repartee.

As I've read through the lastest books in the series, I think Nora is writing a baby into Eve & Roarke's future.
