Jan Karon's "Life in Mitford" series is without a doubt some of the best books ever written!!!

You might like Elizabeth Berg's books. The Art of Mending, What We Keeep, Say When, and Until the Real Thing Comes Along are my favorties. They are usually just about things we go through as adults and how we deal with them...divorce, our childhoods...easy reading with a little humor. Then she wrote three about a girl growing up in the 50's named Katie. Katie's mother is dead and she is being raised by her strict military dad...Durable Goods, True to Form and I can't think of the other one, but they are great, great books. They'll make you laugh and cry (a little). Oh, the other one is Joy School. Our library has them all.

yes, I guess I should have included the kinds of books that I like. I like the kind that are funny, but with a little romance in there as well. I don't care for the ones that are "trashy romances". lol. I don't know what else to call those. I do not like horror or graphic stories. I like reading "true" stories, as well as inspirational books. I also like some that would probably be considered "self help" books. thank you for all the suggestions!

I agree with all that is listed but I would also include James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Chelsea Cain, Karin Slaughter, Mary Higgins Clark and John Sandford. These are great authors in my opinion as well just depends on what you like.

Try the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. The first book is called Outlander. You can get it at the library.

Try the Nicholas Sparks' books. They are different from the movies and are very good stories. The Wilkes Library has several. I am reading them now and I am hooked on them.
