Scott Nicholson and Joe Naff are both from Boone. Apparently lots of authors up that way, small world! But like I said, Scott writes paranormal thrillers and Joe writes a fantasy series called the "Chronicles of Shyra". I'm actually reading that on right now. I'm enjoying it so far!

Yes, Slayer. I meant "mystery" (when I asked about "whodunnits"). I read mostly mystery, but also love historical fiction, and would love to read something like that about our area. I even read Nicholas Sparks largely for the North Carolina angle of his work.
There was a mystery written by a quite mediocre writer from Boone that I read last year. I read the whole thing, despite writing that would have embarrassed a high-school English lit student. I don't remember her name (the author), but after that "build-up", it would be cruel to say.

Hum, not sure. Do you mean like a mystery novel? I can't think of one personally. Also I can't think about any historical fiction as that genre doesn't really interest me. However when it comes to sci-fi and fantasy books I got ya' covered!
But I'm always going to conventions showcasing local authors so if I see anyone I will pass along the info.

Got any recommendations for "whodunnits" by local authors? Or historical fiction set in our area?
