Thanks Candy. I hadn't heard about him. Now I am so sad.
But he will always live in reruns!

Actor Geoffrey Hughes has died following a battle with cancer, his friend and colleague Ricky Tomlinson confirmed to ITV news. The 68-year-old was well known and much loved for his portrayal of slobbish Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances, and Twiggy in the Royle Family as well. He also played Eddie Yates In Coronation Street.

ellie (view profile) | Posted 8:20 am, 09/09/2012 | Onslow just passed away in the last month. Trying to remember his real name. Those episodes are quite old but I still love watching them. | Oh No!!!! Say it ain't so. Onslow is my hero. Are You Being Served is good and so is Waiting For God (takes place in a retirement home).

Mr. Peacock wasn't so bad himself. The old timer that ran the place was just not right either.

WOW! I thought I was alone in watching "Keeping Up Appearances." Nice to know you are all out there!
Moving - be nicer to your wife and don't call her Hyacinth - Hyacinth is insufferable!
Okay I will go out on a limb here speaking of British comedies - how about Are You Being Served?" I will admit I have not read this whole thread but that is one of my favorites.

Truthseeker, I do believe you would love KUA. Yes, it is a Brit Com and one of the best. And they never speak a dirty word... best of all. Give it a chance and you will be hooked.
When my wife gets in one of her OCD cleaning modes, I call her Hyacinth!

It is a Brit sitcom, I was hoping they were doing reruns somewhere. Haven't seen Shirley Valentine.

I haven't seen this but I gather it's a Brit sit com? Have any of you seen Shirley Valentine ? It's Brit comedy, one of my favorite movies of all time. Even saw a play based on it. I think you would like it.
