I had watched the reality show she had with her family & saw how much they all cared for one another, this makes me so sad for Melissa & Conner.

To me, worse than a loved one having to make this decision is a loved one UNWILLING to make this decision and keeping someone on life support for days, weeks, months.....

Word.

It doesn't matter why she was having the surgery...I'm sure her physician's gave her preoperative clearance...to proceed with the surgery... as with any type of surgery...no one knows what all may happen.

That's What She gets for Bad Mouthing Barack and Michelle Obama like she did - Joan Rivers Calls President Obama Gay, and Says First Lady Is a 'Tranny'

Joan is very attractive at age 81.

I have suspected, from the beginning, that the surgery she had was more cosmetic surgery.

Agree with that, Smalltownman.

goddess it was not a life saving surgery that she had. Re read why she had the surgery.

Speaking as someone who had to make that decision, you will never get over it even if you knew that was the parents desire.

"No one in their right mind would have surgery at age 81"

I'm hoping that if you should reach that age...and your physician thought you might need a life saving procedure that you or your loved ones would be "in their right mind" to save you...

surgery at that age...is concerning to say the least...but it saves more lives than not!

That's a very sad sentiment Quack, I hope you rethink it.

Being Funny and Being Mean are 2 different things. No one in their right mind would have surgery at age 81, I hope she recovers but I doubt it.

I know, hippiegirl, but I'd rather not if I have to hear ppl put her down. I didn't like a lot of the stuff that came out of her mouth but she made a good life for herself, child & grandson.

The can of worms you opened doesn't seem to be getting too many bites.
