I discovered this guy, a British author/playwrite who lived and wrote in the late 19th early 20th century, two years ago and I can't tell enough people about him. If you don't know him, and you aren't alone, do yourself a favor and pick up his novel Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog.) There are some movie versions of the book if you want to dip your toe in that way, but I've seen nothing quite like this guy's writing.
