The remake is good, but not as brutal as the original. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original) is pretty disturbing, too.
I didn't realize it, but I guess I find the ones that are based on reality to be the scariest. Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees are all good and scary, but nothing compared to what a truly sick mind can do.
The most disturbing movie I have ever watched would probably be "I spit on your grave" I watched the remake and even though I never saw the original I hear it's just as twisted. After watching it you will never look at a shotgun the same.
The Girl Next Door is based on the true story of Sylvia Likens, in 1965. This teenage girl was held in a basement for 3 months by her aunt and several neighborhood children.
Check out Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door. It's on Netflix instant play. There's no man rape scene, but it's the most brutal horror movie I've ever seen.
I think I'll watch it right now, most brutal? I dunno, I've seen some hardcore gore horror movies in my time.
