Yes, it is a bed and breakfast now. People actually want to spend the night in the bedroom where the step mother was killed.

Heard that home was a Bed n Breakfast. I don't think I could stay there but would love a tour of the home.

Here is another point. The "murder weapon" was never found. The one the prosecutor claimed was the murder weapon had no traces of blood on it. In fact, the autopsy of Mrs. Borden showed that she was killed first w/ a brand new hatchet (a piece of metal on the new hatchet was left in her head). The prosecutors KNEW this, the expert Drs. KNEW this and yet they LIED on the stand!

Well, I guess saying they "lied" could be a bit tricky. More of lied by omission. They said the broken off hatchet head "could have made the wounds". They just neglected to tell the ENTIRE TRUTH!

I just finished reading David Kent's Forty Whacks New Evidence in the Life and Legend of Lizzie Borden. I read a lot of true crime novels and this story infuriated me! Lizzie Borden was persecuted by lies for a crime that she could not have possibly committed.

This book is definitely worth the read. I never really knew much about the case before; but, since I have read nearly all of the true crime books the library has I decided to check this one out. The timeline does not allow enough time for her to have committed the murders, cleaned up and all before the law was called. Her father was still warm and fresh blood when law officers arrived.

The legend says the mom was murdered after the father ... no, 1 1/2 to 2 hours PRIOR! The newspapers were caught printing lies. Even the prosecutor KNEW they did not have a case. Lizzie Borden was acquitted after only 10 minutes of deliberation (something I did not know till I read the book ... from what little I had heard I thought she was proven to be guilty). She spent the rest of her life being treated as if she had gotten away w/ murder! To this day, many still believe she was guilty!

I did a google search. Watched American Justice's episode on Lizzie Borden. They didn't even get the facts of the case right! After all this time???!!!!

Has anyone else read this book? I would love to hear your take on it.
