I have read

A Child Called It

The Lost boy

A Man Named Dave

I didnt know there were 3 more....Ill definately look for them!

It is a heart wrentching story and can be hard to read...But the books can be used for a positive. It will really make you think twice the next time you get angry at your child...Even the slightest of anger towards your child will come to new light. Its also a good story about strength and growth in a child that came from some of the worst conditions.

I have read all of his books. His brother Richard also wrote a book because after CPS got Dave out of the home his mother started abusing him (Richard). Dave Pelzer has been here in the county for a speaking engagement. As a GAL volunteer I could have gone to hear him but at the time my mother was in the hospital so I didn't get to go. Too bad, I would really like to have heard him speak.

Only his first two books told his story at the hands of his mother. The others gave readers some insight into what it was like to cope with life in foster care and how he managed to succeed even after going through so much.

I remember reading three of his books. I don't think I knew about the fourth one. The first one was gut wrenching.
