Are You There God? It's Me Margaret~Judy Blume

The Ralph Mouse Collection~Beverly Cleary

Island Of The Blue Dolphins~Scott O'Dell (I'm in my thirties and still read this book a couple times a year)

Miss Spider's Tea Party~David Kirk (This is an excellent series of books and board books. Great for pre-school age kids)

If you have children starting school this year, please read "THE KISSING HAND". Great BOOK

If you like children's books check out the new Eric Carle book. He has the puppets to go with it... and you can find lots of information and cool stuff on the net about it...
