"Quickie" by James Patterson. I know...that title. You'll just have to hide it if you don't want to be teased! But don't let the title put you off. This one has more twists than a pretzel-factory. Just when you think you know where it's headed, trust me....YOU DON'T! A true adrenaline rush from beginning to end, this should be your next "guilty pleasure".

"Rough Country" by John Sandford. Set in a small, northern Minnesota town, women are being murdered. Women with no apparent connection to one another. But there's a terrible secret buried in this town, quite literally, and it's up to BCA (Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) detective Virgil Flowers to uncover it...before anyone else dies.

A spin-off from Sandford's hugely successful and voluminous (20+) "Prey" series, "That f'ing Flowers" as Virgil is affectionately known at headquarters, works for Lucas Davenport, my all-time favorite fictional cop. 

Sandford's novels always remind me of a rollercoaster ride...slowly you creep up that first hill (as the facts are laid out), but once you crest it (the pieces begin to fall into place)....HOLD ON FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE! This one is certainly no exception. JUST READ IT!

i just read The host by Stephanie meyer.awesome read.the story is much different than the twilight series,which was great too.she is one of the best authors ive read.especially for her to be so fresh and new.

First Family

This book is great, it shows just how much a rich and powerful family can hide. It has mystery,and just so good I could hardly put it down. I was #33 when I put a hold at the library for it, but it was well worth the wait. Let me know if you folks like it.

South of Broad by Pat Conroy

The life remembrances of a nerdy young man growing into adulthood as the son of the high school prinicipal in the beautiful city of Charleston, SC with his small tight-knit group of friends as he carries the shadow of his, at the time, older brother's suicide.
If anyone has ever visited or spent any length of time in Charleston, this is a mental visit to this charming city on the bay.
An eye-opening story to the angst and guilt carried by this young man as he struggles through adolescence into adulthood accompanied by his friends and their own ordeals in coping with personal trials and tribulations.

Lady laws I am currently in the middle of the book and it is a lot different but still interesting. Let you know when I finish what I think.

This is a fantastic idea lady laws....

I just read the Shack....I was somewhat disappointed in this book...I kept getting the feeling that it was sort of like The Wizard of Oz...and that is exactly what it ended up being. If you remember the book and movie...What Dreams May Come...yep, almost like that too! But, if you want a simple feel good sort of read then this is the one of those books.

Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult

This book is really different not everyone would enjoy it. I did. After you get there the first two or three chapters you find out it is about a seven year old
girl who says God is talking to her. People try to prove she is a fake. I couldn't hardly put it down I wanted so badly to see what was really going on. I would like to know if some of you have read the book if so did you like it?

The Light House Keeper by James Pratt

This book is good, usually I only enjoy books that have a mystery in them, but this one is so uplifting, something we all can use at times. There are some Bible quotes in it and gives you a good feeling about when bad things do happen.

Parting Gifts by Charlotte van Allen

Very good book, but you must, just must read it to the last page. At first you may think it will be too sad or not so interesting, but if you read the whole book I think you will like it.

The courage tree by Diane Chamberlain
hard back book at the library is also dealing with the same story matter but completely different. I loved both books
