i've read "Confessions", thought it was better than "Wicked". "MIrror, MIrror" was good too, but I didn't care much for "Haunted".

I too read Son of a Witch, and I loved it until the end. It just ended so abruptly and left me wanting more. Was still a good book though, just not as good as Wicked!!
Was wondering if anyone has read any of Maguire's other books?? - Confessions of an Ugly Step Sister, his take on the Cinderella story, with a surprise ending or Mirror, Mirror, his take on Snow White?? Tell me what you think if so

The play, or musical rather, is very good as well. Charlotte's going to have it at the Blumenthal in April next year. I liked Wicked as well as the sequel he wrote called Son of a Witch. lol. I don't think it was a good as Wicked though.
Very fascinating how he creates the backstory for Oz. You really feel for Elphaba.

If you loved the Wizard of OZ (book by L. Frank Baum or movie) then you will love Gregory Maguire's book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. It is a great book.period. It is all about the life of the supposed Wicked Witch...who has a name Elphaba. If you have read it please discuss, and if not check it out!! Great piece of fiction.
