Any Teen Readers Out There

I liked the Harry Potter books and was looking for something similar, so I scanned online for "like Harry Potter" and found the Charlie Bone books. There are like 6 books (so far) in this series, and it's main character is a boy named Charlie Bone. Look Charlie Bone up on Amazon or half.com and you'll see them all. These are really good books.

If you are an older teen, I'd recommend R.A. Salvatore. This author is one of the best, in my opinion, for fantasy genre.

That's great you like to read. It's gymnastics for the mind! :D 8)

Hi lochmere,

I am not a "young" reader anymore.
Actually, I am a mature reader now, but have loved reading all my life. Let me congratulate you for your interest in books. Try books by Dee Henderson or Jan Karon. You will find them in the Christian section of your library. Even though they are Christian, they are also very interesting and will hold your attention. There is lots of adventure in Henderson's books and lots of humor in Karon's. Also, if you can find them, try " The Remember Box'" or "Carley's Song" by Patricia Sprinkle".

Don't let anyone make you think that it is weird to be a book lover. Those other teens are too interested in video and computer games to know the joy that you have. Keep up the good work.

Hi!! I would recommend anything my Chris Crutcher or Nicholas Sparks. They both are great writers and get you stuck in the middle of any of their novels.

Hey swimmer I'm 14 myself and I recommend The Good Earth OR The Sore Loser, but we warned there is some language in Sore Loser that's not soo great.

What kind of things do you like to read? The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice are really good. My favorite book is As I Lay Dying by Faulkner (its not an easy read but I loved it).

Let's see....these are two of my favorites, probably wouldn't be classified as "young adult" though. But still good books!

Where the Heart Is, by Billie Letts
To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee

I love books, I have read almost everything in the "young adult" section at our library. Is there anyone out there who wants to share good books with me? I usually only read young adult books, but I am open to others, just as long as they are good.

Everyone I know thinks I am weird because I love reading so much, I don't know what has happened to teenagers these days, none of them like to read anymore :?
