The Witching Hour is the first book in the series. It was awesome. It was the first Anne Rice book that I ever read. By far better than her vampire series, at least to me it was.

I loved them. It has been a long time since I read them.

I love the Mayfair Witch series. The first book is a little hard to follow (it is full of "begats"), but well worth the read. Lasher & Taltos are both entertaining reads. Be sure to follow up with the tie-ins to the Vampire Chronicles - Merrick, Blackwood Farm & Blood Canticle.
